Washington trailed by 4 and still found the way. The Mystics won the first quarter 23-16, but Connecticut answered in the second with a 26-21 run to take a halftime lead of 44-42. Washington seized control in the third, outscoring the Sun 22-16 to lead 66-58 going into the final quarter. Connecticut made it close down the stretch, but Washington's defense held firm in the fourth, winning 13-11 to secure a 79-69 victory at home.
